CLIMAX TO SUCCESSFUL WINTER FOR COUNTY BATSMAN WESTBURY IN NEW ZEALAND

ollie westbury ends his spell in new zealand this weekend after a successful winter for grafton united in all cricket in the auckland cricket premier men’s (acpm) competitions.

the worcestershire batsman is currently the second highest run scorer in the acpm panning all three formats of the game.

westbury heads into the clash with waitakere with a combined tally of 792 runs from 17 completed innings at an average of 46.58.

only amit dhadwal (cornwall cc) on 794 has scored more runs and his tally has come from 21 knocks at an average of 44.11 followed by brian barnard (howick) with 782.

westbury has hit two centuries – both in the two-day competition against ellerslie (104) and birkenhead (121) – plus five other fifty plus scores.

his run tally is made up of:

two-day – innings 6, not outs 1, runs 294, highest 121 – average 58.80 (two centuries)

one-day – innings 5, not outs 0, runs 222, highest 83 – average 44.40 (two fifties)

twenty20 – innings 7, not outs 0, runs 276, highest 78 – average 39.43 (three fifties)

westbury will report back to New Road next week as he looks to try and build on last summer when he had his first taste of senior action.

he made his list a, t20 and first class debuts for the county against west indies a, leicestershire and surrey respectively.

westbury was also part of the squad for vitality blast finals day.
