Concert Of Legends 2017 – Concert Guide

The all-day extravaganza is almost upon us! This Saturday, Concert of Legends 2017 takes place at Worcestershire County Cricket Club- and we are so excited to welcome you to New Road! The second instalment of Concert of Legends will see headliners Billy Ocean, Paul Carrack and The Boomtown Rats take to the stage to perform an incredible selection of hits! With the Legends of 90’s Dance including Baby D and Livin’ Joy also featuring, this 11 hour spectacular is set be one of the highlights of the Summer!

We have prepared a Concert Guide to provide details for this Saturday including the running order, food and drink provision and parking arrangements. Concert Timings

Gates will be opening at 12pm for all guests and it is recommended to arrive at 12pm and not before, to avoid any long queues on New Road before the beginning of the concert.

Please note, the running order for the day is subject to change. There may be very brief intervals in between each act but there are no scheduled intervals other than this during the event.

The concert will finish at approximately 11pm with the venue closing immediately after the final act has finished.

1630 – Ray Lewis’ Drifters

1800 – The Boomtown Rats

2000 – Billy Ocean

2200 – Paul Carrack

Parking

Please note there is NO parking on-site available at all.

Parking is available at Christopher Whitehead Language College for just £5 per vehicle. This is also the location of the taxi DROP-OFF POINT (Postcode: WR2 4AF).

Taxis attempting to drop off outside the venue will be moved on for security reasons and your compliance with this is appreciated.

Those attending the event requiring disability access, please enter the ground via the Premier Inn Entrance. There will be a limited amount of parking available for those with a disability. A valid blue badge must be displayed unless any prior reservations have been made with us by calling our ticketing department on 01905 337921, but we stress this parking is on a first come, first served basis.

Venue Access

General Access – General access to the venue will be located through the Main Entrance, which is located just past the speed camera on New Road. All general ticket holders must enter via this access point, where your ticket will be exchanged for a wristband which will permit you access into the venue.

Hospitality Guests – For all hospitality guests, access will via The View, which is located on the left hand side as you come over the River Bridge, roadside of the Premier Inn. Simply head up the ramp into the foyer of The View where your ticket will be exchanged for a hospitality lanyard and you will be guided to your suite.

If you have purchased tickets for any of our hospitality packages, access to the ground is outlined in the section above. Once inside the venue, please ensure you wear your lanyard at all times.

Timings for food in all hospitality areas will be as follows:

1pm-3pm – Premium grazing buffet available in suite

7pm-9pm – Chilli, rice & garlic bread available in suite

Safety & Security

At the Worcestershire County Cricket Ground ‘Concert Of Legends’ your safety is of paramount importance to us. We have a number of procedures in place to ensure everyone has a brilliant time, including our commitment to the SAFE policy (Safety at Festivals & Events).

These include bag & body searches plus wristband checks throughout the duration of the event, so the less you bring the quicker you’ll get in! We also ask you to be as vigilant as possible at all times and if you see anything suspicious or of concern, please contact a steward immediately.

Venue Regulations

No food or drink is allowed to be brought into the venue. A large selection of food and drink is available to purchase on site. Drinks will be priced at standard pub prices. Following feedback from last year’s event we will have more bars on-site for 2017 to help alleviate queuing.

Under 12’s must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Junior ticket holders will only gain entry with a standard ticket holder present.
No seating/camping chairs or similar are to be brought into the venue, but there will be areas of stadium seating available.

No gazebos or similar structures are allowed into the venue.

This event takes place outdoors. Customers are advised to wear appropriate clothing, footwear and protection against all weather.

Please be aware that this is a predominantly standing event. Others around you may stand for the duration of the concert so we ask that you please remain courteous to one another throughout the day.

There will be a ‘Standing Only’ area on the day, though picnic blankets, ground sheets and similar may be brought into the venue to use in the ‘sit down’ areas.

Food & Drink

No food or drink is allowed to be brought into the venue. A large selection of food and drink will be available to purchase on-site with a whole host of food options on sale in the Food Village behind the marquee, and drinks will be available from the below bars:

Graeme Hick Pavilion

Our Graeme Hick Pavilion facility will be open serving both alcoholic and soft drinks. This will be open throughout the event to all guests!

Diglis Bar

(Behind the Basil D’Oliveira Stand)

One of the most popular bars at New Road, the Diglis Bar will be serving a selection of both alcoholic and soft drinks.

Portable Bar

(Under the Chestnut trees)

Located conveniently under the Chestnut tree, this bar will be serving a selection of both alcoholic and soft drinks.

McMinn Marquee

The McMinn Marquee is located to the right of the stage and will be offering a variety of alcoholic and soft drinks throughout the concert.

Stowford Press Bar

(Under the Premier Inn)

One of the biggest bars on-site and perfect for speedy service, this bar will be serving draught beer, lager & cider only.

Refreshments Kiosk

(Behind the Basil D’Oliveira Stand)

Our Refreshments Kiosk will open selling a range of hot drinks, snacks & confectionary.
