CONGRATULATIONS TO MOEEN ALI ON REACHING 100 ODI CAPS

It’s congratulations from all at Worcestershire CCC to Moeen Ali who today made his 100th ODI appearance for England against Sri Lanka at Headingley.

Worcestershire all-rounder Moeen reached the milestone five and a half years after making his England debut in the same format of the game.

The 32-year-old first appeared for his country as an opening batsman alongside Michael Lumb the West Indies at North Sound and scored 44.

Only Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler in addition to Moeen from that team remain members of the England squad selected for the current World Cup.

Moeen has remained in the ODI side since that debut in the Caribbean and been a mainstay of the squad under Eoin Morgan.

In 99 ODIs he has scored 1744 runs at 26.02 with three centuries and five fifties.

His centuries came against Sri Lanka (2014), Scotland (2015) and West Indies (2017).

Moeen has also taken 83 wickets with a best performance of 4-46 versus Australia at Old Trafford last summer.
