County All-Rounder Leach Hoping He Will Benefit From Spell With North Canberra

Joe Leach is hoping he will reap the benefits of his spell Down Under with North Canberra Gungahlin Cricket Club this winter.

The Worcestershire all-rounder has linked up with the Australian Capital Territory first grade side until reporting back to New Road for the start of March.

Leach enjoyed a successful campaign with the county, taking 33 wickets in the LV = County Championship after replacing the injured Gareth Andrew.

He also made several crucial contributions batting at number seven or eight.

Now Academy product Leach he looking to sustain the momentum he gained at New Road during the next five months.

Leach was interviewed by the local newspaper, the Canberra Times, and said: "It's all about trying to improve, so coming over here and testing yourself here is key.

"It's slightly alien conditions, but playing a different standard against different cricketers is only going to make you better when you go back to England.

"Having the chance to come out here on the back of last season with Worcestershire is good because it means I can keep up the momentum."
