County All-Rounder Whiteley Impressing With The Bat For Prospect Cc

County All-Rounder Whiteley Impressing With The Bat For Prospect Cc

Ross Whiteley is another Worcestershire player leading from the front with his performances in Australia this winter.

The all-rounder is currently top of the batting averages for Prospect Cricket Club in 50 over and two-day cricket in the South Australian Cricket Association 'A' grade competition.

Whiteley has amassed 233 runs in four innings at an average of 77.67.

His tally includes scores of 116 against Adelaide University and 98 not out against Stuart last weekend.

Whiteley is comfortably his side's top run-getter ahead of Sam Miller who has scored 125 at an average of 41.67.

He has been used sparingly on the bowling front and to date has bowled 17 overs for 55 runs without taking any wickets.

But Whiteley does have his side's second best economy rate in conceding only 3.24 runs per over.

Whiteley lifted the Worcestershire T20 Player of The Year award at the county's presentation evening at New Road.

His unbeaten 84 off 38 balls in the home win against his former county Derbyshire helped seal a quarter-final spot for the Rapids.
