Worcestershire are chasing a sixth promotion since the County Championship was split into two divisions 17 years ago.
The County have gone up from Division Two to Division One in 2003, 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2014 seasons.
The only time they were promoted as champions was in 2003 when they finished ahead of Northamptonshire and Gloucestershire in a year when three teams went up.
Tom Moody was then Worcestershire’s Director Of Cricket but the other four promotions have been achieved under his successor Steve Rhodes.
Worcestershire were runners-up to Surrey in 2006 by which time only two teams were promoted.
They next finished second to Warwickshire in 2008 – a year after the Pro40 title triumph – and then Sussex in 2010 which came 12 months after a possee of experienced players had left New Road.
Worcestershire also managed to stay up in Division One for 2011 and 2012 before returning to the second tier.
Promotion number five was chalked up in 2014 when Worcestershire ended just three points behind Hampshire – 240 to 237.
Worcestershire need a maximum of six points against Durham at New Road to clinch promotion number six.
