Ben Cox and Jack Shantry helped Greenvale Kangaroos take early control of their two day away clash with Ringwood in a Victorian Premier Cricket Bartercard Men's Premier Firsts encounter.
Wicket-keeper Cox picked up four catches as Ringwood were bowled out for 143 in 64 overs after being put into bat on a rain affected day.
Two of Cox's catches came off Worcestershire team-mate Shantry who took the new ball and bowled in typically accurate fashion to finish with 2-34 from 19 overs.
Rain caused a delay at 79-4 with the first four wickets falling to Kyle Adams who finished with 5-46 from 20 overs.
The match will be concluded on November 8.
Richard Oliver's side Geelong City were second best away to Geelong West on the second day of the Geelong Cricket Association Division One meeting.
West had totalled 240-8 n 85 overs on the opening day of the match last weekend.
Opener and skipper Oliver was second out for 20 with the total on 38 and City were bowled out for 151 in 60.5 overs.
Ross Whiteley's club, Prospects CC, were second best on first innings but avoided overall defeat in their South Australian Cricket Association 'A' grade encounter with East Torrens.
Prospects had been bowled out for 152 on the opening day last weekend with East Torrens replying with 143-0 off 31 overs.
They thrashed another 134 runs off 18 overs before declaring at 277-2 – a lead of 125 on first innings.
Whiteley, batting at number three, was dismissed for two in Prospects second innings but his side reached 219-5 off 62 overs by the close.
