County Hoping To Make Up For Lost Time Against Essex

County Hoping To Make Up For Lost Time Against Essex

Worcestershire are hoping to make up for lost time by playing Essex in a T20 match in Abu Dhabi tomorrow

The two teams are keen to get in some match practice after the original game was abandoned without a ball being bowled on Tuesday after a thunderstorm.

Yesterday's 50 over game between the two counties was also called off after just 20 overs with Essex 102-5 and Ed Barnard claiming four wickets.

Worcestershire had originally been scheduled to take a break from training tomorrow after being put through their places today by Strengthening and Conditioning Coach Ross Dewar.

But the weather of the last few days has led to a change in plans and the players will head to the Zayed Stadium keeping their fingers crossed for better luck with the elements.

The poor weather continued in Abu Dhabi today with Essex's 50 over game against Derbyshire rained off.

Worcestershire will have three more days action after the Essex T20 game before the head back to England – a two day red ball cricket match against Warwickshire and a 50 over contest with Derbyshire.

Warwickshire have been more fortunate with the weather and were narrowly beaten in two T20 matches against the West Indies in Dubai.
