COUNTY PACEMAN FINCH AMONGST WICKETS IN RAIN-HIT BPL PROGRAMME

Adam Finch was amongst the wickets in a rain-ruined Birmingham Premier League programme.

The Worcestershire paceman, who made his senior debut in the Specsavers County Championship match against Lancashire, was in action for Wolverhampton against Tamworth.

Finch took the new ball and dismissed the first three batsmen in the order and returned fine figures of 8-5-7-3.

His opening partner, Aaron Patel, was also effective and finished with 13-7-12-3 as Tamworth were reduced to 42-6 in 25.5 overs but no more play was possible.

It was a similar soggy story elsewhere with the only positive result in either division seeing Barnt Green defeat Knowle and Dorridge by six wickets.

Academy player Zain Ul-Hassan picked up one wicket for 16 runs as Knowle were skittled for 59.

Pat Brown had figures of 5-2-7-1, dismissing Kidderminster’s and Worcestershire Seconds triallist Angus Robson for nought as the 2018 champions reached 44-1 from 12 overs versus Dorridge before the heavens opened.

Daryl Mitchell collected one wicket for three runs from his two overs for Brockhampton whose opponents Harborne had time to reach 63-3 in 12.5 overs before play was abandoned.

Ollie Westbury was unbeaten on 11 as Himley made 20-0 from 4.4 overs against Ombersley before play was curtailed.
