County Players Look To Help Aussie Sides Capitalise On Strong Positions

Several Worcestershire players in action in Australia will be aiming to help their respective sides capitalise on strong positions when two-day games reach their climax.

Wicket-keeper Ben Cox and paceman Jack Shantry will be striving to push home Greenvale Kangaroos advantage after they bowled out Ringwood for 143 last weekend in a Victorian Premier Cricket Bartercard Men's Premier First fixture.

Shantry returned 2-34 from 19 overs and Cox held onto four catches on a rain affected day.

England Under-19 player Joe Clarke hit a half century for South Perth on the opening day away to Melville in a Western Australian Cricket Assciation first grade clash which will be concluded tomorrow.

Clarke's 55 from 83 balls helped South Perth end play on 256-9.

In a WACA second grade match, Alex Hepburn's side, Willetton Dragons, will be looking to press home their advantage against Claremont.

The Dragons will resume on 150-5 after bowling out Claremont for 90 last weekend.

New Road all-rounder Ross Whiteley's team, Prospects CC, begin a two day South Australian Cricket Association 'A' grade match away to Sturt.
