COUNTY SPINNER BEN HELPS UNLEY TO REACH T20 FINAL

ben twohig played a major role with the ball in helping unley cc reach the adelaide cricket association t20 final with a four wicket win over visiting hope valley today.

the worcestershire cc spinner came on first change after hope valley had elected to bat.

twohig picked up two wickets and bowled his four overs for just 11 runs – an economy rate of only 2.75 per over.

sunam gautam (4-0-19-2) and sam powell (4-0-22-3) also turned the screw with the ball as hope valley were restricted to 101-8.

unley also had to work hard for runs and twohig, batting at number five, was lbw for five with the total on 55-4.

but opener harry treloar’s 35 helped unley over the finishing line with 17 balls to spare.

unley will now face marion cc – conquerors of walkerville by six wickets in the other semi-final – in the final on march 3.

but twohig will be unable to play as he flies back to New Road next week to continue preparations for the new campaign.
