County Spinner Ben Shines With Ball For Kidderminster

Worcestershire all-rounder Ben Twohig produced a deadly spell with the ball to help Kidderminster to a five wicket win over home side Bridgnorth in the Birmingham Premier League.

Bridgnorth had reached 83-4 after being put into bat but then spinner Twohig, who has moved from Wolverhampton to Chester Road for this summer, wreaked havoc.

He picked up the next five wickets to fall and finished with figures of 6-2-6-5 as Bridgnorth were bowled out for 103 in 35.1 overs.

Twohig is also batting at number three for Kidderminster and he made 23 from 35 balls with three fours.

He was second out at 38 and then an unbeaten 40 from Connor Smith saw Kidderminster to victory in 34.5 overs.

In the only other Division One game to beat the weather, County Academy player Mitchell Stanley helped Shifnal to a seven wicket success over Wellington.

Stanley finished with figures of 9-1-30-1 as Wellington were bowled out for 113 in 44.1 overs.

Shifnal reached 117-3 in reply off 33.5 overs.
