County Star Moeen To Undergo Scan After Missing England Practice

moeen ali is to undergo a scan on friday after suffering soreness in his left side which meant he missed england’s practice session in perth on thursday.

the worcestershire all-rounder will not feature in england’s opening two-day warm-up game against a western australia x1 at the waca starting on saturday.

england have two more warm-up matches before the first ashes test in three weeks time.

two of worcestershire’s 2017 overseas players are in the top five of test wicket-takers during this calendar year.

australian spinner nathan lyon, who played four specsavers county championship matches as a replacement for john hastings, has amassed 46 wickets in seven tests.

but not far behind is indian all-rounder ravichandran ashwin who played in the final four championship games of the summer.

he has picked up 44 wickets in eight tests.
