County Suffer Weather Frustration As T20 Clash Is Washed Out

Worcestershire CCC suffered weather frustration on day four of their pre-season tour to Abu Dhabi.

After three days of intensive training, the County had been due to take on Essex at the Zayed Stadium in a T20 match.

But a thunderstorm dashed any hopes of prospects of play.

The two sides will now hope for better luck with the elements tomorrow when they are due to meet in a 50 over contest.

The weather has been unsettled and yesterday the county's T20 training was held up for a spell by rain.

The players were put through their paces this morning by fitness and conditioning coach Ross Dewar but it all proved to be in vain as the heavens opened.

Meanwhile, Worcestershire have been made second favourites behind Sussex to gain promotion to Division One of the County Championship.

Betfair make Sussex 9-4 to win Division Two with Worcestershire 7-2, Essex 9-2, Kent 9-1, Gloucestershire and Glamorgan 10-1, Northamptonshire 11-1, Derbyshire 12-1 and Leicestershire 25-1.
