COUNTY YOUNGSTERS CELEBRATE ECB NATIONAL FINAL TRIUMPH

Worcestershire’s youngsters are celebrating trophy success after winning the ECB National Under-15 final by 132 runs against Dorset at Attenborough Cricket Club in Nottingham.

Contrasting half centuries by Rehan Edavaleth and Tom Cosh helped Worcestershire total 215-6 in their 50 overs after choosing to bat.

Then Robert Jones and Joe Stanley shared six wickets to destroy the Dorset top order and they were bowled out for 83 in 35.5 overs.

Openers Edavaleth shared in stands of 79 with Myles Holland (34 off 65 balls) and 53 with Ollie Halion (17).

Edavaleth was eventually out for a patient 51 off 128 balls with three boundaries.

Cosh raced to his half century off 37 balls with two sixes and two fours and added 74 for the fifth wicket with Reeve Evitts (22).

When Dorset batted, Jones picked up the first three wickets to reduce them to 16-3.

Stanley weighed in with three of the next four wickets to fall and then Freddie Fallows mopped up the tail.

Jones ended with figures of 6-0-22-3, Stanley the remarkable analysis of 8-3-6-3, Fallows 5-1-5-2 and Jack Home 0.5-0-5-1.
