Cox: Quarter-Final Experience Will Stand Rapids In Good Stead

Cox: Quarter-Final Experience Will Stand Rapids In Good Stead

Ben Cox is convinced Worcestershire Rapids will reap the benefits of their quarter-final experience in the Natwest T20 Blast and that there will be "success at some point" in the competition.

The Rapids have reached the last eight in three of the last four seasons and in 2015 secured their first ever home quarter-final after finishing second in the powerful North Group.

A finals day appearance has so far eluded them and it remains a goal of Director Of Cricket Steve Rhodes, coaches and players.

Cox said: "Being in three quarter-finals now, we are only going to be a better side for it, more experienced.

"That first time for me, you are nervous in that first quarter-final but you get used to the big occasions.

"You want to do well and nerves are good because it means something to you.

"I think we will be a better team for those quarter-finals, those big games, and hopefully we get to another quarter-final.

"I think with T20 for us as a club, it is an exciting time all-round. There will be some success at some point.

"It is just getting to that finals day because anything can happen on finals day. If we can get past that quarter-finals stage, then I think we will be in with a good shout."
