Ben Cox has made a major contribution with the bat and behind the stumps in Worcestershire Rapids march to the semi-finals of the Royal London One-Day Cup.
The 26-year-old has hit three half centuries in eight North Group matches and has scored a total of 274 runs at an average of 54.80.
Cox scored 56 not out versus Derbyshire, 50 against Yorkshire and blasted 80 off the Warwickshire attack in addition to 25 not out versus Durham and 39 against Northamptonshire.
He is also acquired more dismissals than other wicket-keeper in the 2018 competition with 17 victims – three more than nearest challenger Daryn Smit of Derbyshire.
Callum Ferguson, who will skipper the Rapids against Kent Spitfires tomorrow, is their highest run-scorer after his superb knocks of 192 against Leicestershire and 159 not out against Northamptonshire.
Joe Clarke (283) and Daryl Mitchell (256) are the other main contributors with the bat.
On the bowling front, Ed Barnard has claimed 15 wickets for the Rapids to add to his 103 runs at an average of 51.50.
But what has also been encouraging is Charlie Morris’s 11 wickets on his return to the first team squad – the same as Moeen Ali who has the Rapids best economy rate (4.95).
