CRICKET SOCIETY ON TARGET TO AGAIN TOP 200 MEMBERS MARK

CRICKET SOCIETY ON TARGET TO AGAIN TOP 200 MEMBERS MARK

Worcestershire Cricket Society is continuing to flourish and on target to surpass last winter’s tally of 206 members.

Six more new members were acquired at Tuesday’s opening winter evening when ex England all-rounder Chris Lewis was the guest speaker.

With 11 more renewing their members at the same evening, the Society now has 189 current paid up members.

But secretary Mike Hitchings anticipates at least half of the 46 outstanding 2018-2019 members will renew their membership – which will take the tally past the 206 mark.

The Society had the third highest membership in the entire country for 2018-2019.

Income raised from raffles, memberships and donations during the evening is used to pay for guest speakers fees, accommodation, expenses etc during the winter.

Former England spinner and Somerset player Vic Marks is next on the agenda on November 12 in the Hick Pavilion (7.30pm).
