Curtis Praised For Role In Bringing In New Faces

worcestershire vice-chairman tim curtis has been praised for his role in helping the county to bring in new appointments on and off the field on the cricketing side during a winter of transition.

curtis has been at the helm to fill the gap in such key matters before the arrival of matthew rawnsley as new ceo at New Road later this week.

the former county opener headed up the group responsible for securing the appointment of australian batsman travis head as the main overseas player for the 2018 campaign.

curtis was also part of the interview process that saw alan richardson return to the club as head bowling coach.

worcestershire chairman stephen taylor said: “an enormous vote of thanks goes to tim curtis for his work on the cricketing side during the past few months.

“we needed someone to take charge of seeking and helping to find overseas appointments for 2018 and tim has taken on that mantle superbly until matt takes over as ceo.

“he headed up the group who have brought in travis head as our main overseas signing.

“tim has also been actively seeking to fill the other overseas slots, including the one in june when travis is on international duty, and for the t20.

“a big thanks again and also for his part in enabling to appoint alan into his coaching post. it’s been a job excellently done.”
