Worcestershire Seconds will revert to their more conventional squad when they take on Derbyshire Seconds in a Trophy encounter at Alvaston and Boulton CC tomorrow.
Five of the top six batsmen from the Specsavers County Championship clash with Nottinghamshire all featured in yesterday’s Trophy meeting at Blackfinch New Road against Warwickshire to gain some valuable time in the middle.
But only all-rounder George Rhodes of that quintet is also selected against the Peakites.
Ross Whiteley, who was part of the 13 man squad chosen for the Nottinghamshire match, is also included.
Wicket-keeper Joe Dodd will come into the side with the 25-year-old taking over behind the stumps from Joe Clarke.
Coach Alex Gidman’s side will be looking to add to their three run triumph against The Bears and bolster their chances of reaching the knockout stages.
Skipper Ollie Westbury hit 143 off 117 balls in last season’s win over Derbyshire at Kidderminster in the competition.
Worcestershire’s total of 383-6 was their highest on home soil in the Trophy.
