Brett D'Oliveira helped Ombersley launch their Birmingham and District League Premier Division programme via a nine wicket away win over Kenilworth with 12.1 overs to spare.
The Worcestershire all-rounder – part of the Rapids squad for Sunday's Royal London One-Day Cup clash with Leicestershire Foxes – picked up 2-31 from 10 overs) as Kenilworth totalled 203-7 in 50 overs.
He then struck 98 not out off 105 balls with one six and nine fours and shared in an unbroken stand of 204 with Academy product Josh Dell whose 85 not out off 121 balls contained one six and eight fours.
D'Oliveira's New Road opening partner, Daryl Mitchell, ended on the losing side when making his Premier Division debut for Brockhampton away to Wolverhampton.
Wolverhampton were put in and totalled 287-8 in 50 overs with Mitchell returning 2-45 from his 10 overs.
Mitchell was dismissed for two as Brockhampton were bowled out for 234 in 49.4 overs.
Ed Barnard carried his bat for Shrewsbury but his team were bowled out for 54 and went down by six wickets to visiting Barnt Green.
Barnard ended unbeaten on 21 but no-one else made double figures as Shrewsbury were skittled in 23.3 overs.
Barnt Green reached 55-4 off 21.2 overs in reply.

In Division One, Joe Clarke struck 77 on his league debut for Tamworth who achieved an astonishing 348 run win over home team Barnard Green.
Clarke hit four sixes and 10 fours in his 45 ball knock as Tamworth rattled up 392-6 off 50 overs.
Then Barnard Green, who included George Rhodes and Josh Tongue in their side, were bowled out for 44 in 15.5 overs.
Tom Kohler-Cadmore made 25 off 12 balls for Himley who were bowled out for 197 in 40.3 overs and lost by four runs in reply to visiting Moseley's 201-6.
Alexei Kervezee scored 22 of home team Bromsgrove's 261-6 and bowled nine overs for 35 runs as Attock CC were restricted to 228-6.
Charlie Morris picked up 2-37 from nine overs for Bridgnorth when they visited Shifnal who totalled 245 all out in 49 overs.
He then batted at number five and made 10 as Bridgnorth closed on 176-9 and went down by 69 runs.
