EDAVALETH MAKES USEFUL CONTRIBUTIONS WITH BAT AND BALL AT BUNBURYS

EDAVALETH MAKES USEFUL CONTRIBUTIONS WITH BAT AND BALL AT BUNBURYS

Useful contributions from Worcestershire Academy-pathway players Rehan Edavaleth, Reeve Evitts and Ollie Walker could not prevent the Midlands going down by two wickets in a 50 over match against London-East at the Bunbury Festival.

Edavaleth (19) featured in a partnership of 63 for the second wicket with Nafis Shaikh (79) after the Midlands had chosen to bat.

Evitts then chipped in with an unbeaten 16 off 16 balls at the back end of the innings as the Midlands totalled 246-9.

When London-East batted, they lost two early wickets but recovered and looked to be on their way to a comfortable win before Walker dismissed Reiss Walker (43) to end a stand of 70 with Jamal Richards at 204-6.

Edavaleth set up an exciting finish by dismissing Harry Gallian with the total 229-7.

But Richards remained unbeaten on 59 to see his side over the finishing line on 247-8 with five balls to spare.

Edavaleth bowled a tidy spell of 10-0-41-1 while Walker had figures of 5-0-32-1.
