Feast Of International Cricket At New Road In 2017

Feast Of International Cricket At New Road In 2017

Worcestershire supporters can again enjoy another feast of international cricket at New Road next summer.

The County have hosted many such matches in recent years – and 2017 will continue in the same vein with seven days action.

And the added attraction is that several Worcestershire players may feature in those games.

Joe Clarke has been a regular member of the squad for the England Lions who take on South Africa at New Road from June 29 to July 1.

It is the Proteas final match before the four-day Test series against England gets underway at Lord's on July 6.

The attention will switch to the England Under-19 side when they tackle India Under-19s at the County's headquarters for a four-day Test from July 31 to August 3.

Worcestershire duo George Scrimshaw and Josh Dell were part of the Young Lions training camp in UAE earlier this month with the latter having feature in the Under-19s games against their Sri Lankan counterparts last summer.

The two four-day international fixtures means a minimum of 47 days cricket will be staged at New Road this summer.

The County will participate in seven four-day Specsavers County Championship, seven NatWest T20 Blast and four Royal London One-Day Cup matches.
