Fell And Leach Finish As County’s Leading Run-Scorer And Wicket-Taker In Lv = Cc

Tom Fell and Joe Leach finished as Worcestershire's highest run-scorer and wicket-taker respectively in the LV = County Championship for the 2015 campaign.

Fell passed 1,000 LV = CC runs in a season for the first time thanks to his superb 171 against Middlesex in the final match of the season at New Road.

It was his third hundred of the summer in addition to four fifty plus scores.

Keeper Ben Cox also had an excellent summer with the bat and behind the stumps and finished second highest run-getter with 778 – just ahead of skipper Daryl Mitchell.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore's unbeaten 130, also against Middlesex, meant he finished top of the batting averages with 294 runs at 42.00.

Leach just edged out Jack Shantry to finish as the leading wicket-taker with 59 in the LV = CC – two more than the left armer.

It was the first time Leach has achieved a 50 wicket haul in a campaign after making the transition from being a batting all-rounder to someone who takes the new ball and also makes good contributions down the order.

He achieved his career best figures of 6-73 against Warwickshire at Edgbaston.

Shantry had the satisfaction of taking one more wicket than his haul of 56 in the promotion-winning campaign of 2014.

He also had the best economy rate of any Worcestershire bowler conceding just 2.77 runs per over.

For the second successive season, Shantry also played in all 16 Championship matches – a fitting tribute to the work of fitness and conditioning coach Ross Dewar and first team physio Ben Davies.
