Tom Fell carried his good form in the Seconds T20 competition into the Championship for Worcestershire Seconds who earned a hard fought draw with Yorkshire Seconds at Harrogate.
Fell had hit the Seconds highest ever individual score in the short format of the game with his 120 not out against the Tykes at Marske CC on Monday.
He followed it up by top-scoring with 75 after Yorkshire had declared their first innings on the overnight 427-8 and then both sides forfeited an innings
Worcestershire had 96 overs to reach their target or hold out for a draw and they managed the latter in closing on 271-6 from 84 overs at which point the two sides shook hands.
The visitors collected eight points from the game – three bowling points and another five for a share of the spoils.
Skipper Ollie Westbury departed for 20 with 32 on the board but then Fell and George Rhodes settled into a partnership of 110 in 27 overs.
James Wainman broke the stand when dismissing Rhodes for 47 off 127 balls with six boundaries and Fell followed eight runs later.
He was bowled by Josh Shaw after striking one six and 13 fours in his 127 ball knock.
Shaw also sent back last week’s first team centurion, Alex Milton, for 14 and Josh Dell (6) was bowled by Karl Carver.
But Jack Haynes and former Yorkshire player Ryan Gibson steered Worcestershire to safety.
Haynes made exactly 50 from 99 deliveries with six fours when he offered a return catch to Carver but Gibson remained unbeaten on 37.
