Fell Hits Half Century As Seconds Draw Rain-Hit Cheltenham Friendly

Tom Fell was amongst the runs for Worcestershire on the final day of the drawn Second Eleven friendly encounter with Gloucestershire at Dean Close School, Cheltenham.

The 20-year-old Academy product top-scored with 61 off 86 balls with one six and eight fours.

Fell made several first team appearances last season and impressed when hitting an unbeaten 62 against Australia.

Rain denied him the chance of a first century for the county when the LV = County Championship game against Kent at New Road in early August was abandoned when he was 94 not out.

Fell signed a two year contract up until the end of the 2015 season but has yet to make a senior appearance so far this campaign.

Rain delayed the start on the third day until 1.30 and Gloucestershire declared their first innings on their overnight score of 226-2 – a deficit of 72.

Worcestershire reached 169-7 by the close with opener Alex Hepburn (23) sharing a second wicket partnership of 66 with Fell.

The Seconds now face back to back Second Eleven Twenty20 matches.

They take on Gloucestershire again today (Thursday) at Frocester Cricket Club and then do battle with Glamorgan tomorrow (Friday) at Kidderminster's Chester Road ground.

This match has been switched from its original venue of New Road.
