Tom Fell has wasted no time in returning to action after getting the all clear in his battle against cancer.
The Worcestershire batsman is today starting six successive days of action towards his ultimate aim of regaining his first team spot at New Road.
Fell got the green light on Thursday after undergoing a scan following three bouts of chemotherapy in the fight to overcome cancer in the lymph nodes.
The 22-year-old is today playing club cricket for his boyhood club Wolverhampton away to Kenilworth Wardens.
He will also turn out for them tomorrow in a home meeting with Himley.
Then on Monday, Fell will begin four days cricket on the trot for Worcestershire Seconds.
He will turn out in two matches in the Second Eleven T20 competition against Northamptonshire at New Road.
That match is followed by a Second Eleven Championship clash from Tuesday to Thursday against the same opponents at Kidderminster.
Worcestershire Director Of Cricket Steve Rhodes said: "Tom is coming back to our ranks now. He has been given the all clear and hopefully he will build up his fitness and get some form playing in the second team initially.
"But I know Tom, he is a terrific run scorer and he will be desperate to get his spot back and put some runs on the board."
