Fell On Winning Side As Mount Lawley Edge Home

Tom Fell's side Mount Lawley bounced back from their defeat against Fremantle the previous day with victory over home side Perth in the Western Australia Cricket Association first grade encounter.

Fell, Worcestershire's leading run-scorer in the County Championship last season, made his third appearance since flying out to Australia in early December for a three month spell with Mount Lawley.

He went in his accustomed number three role and was dismissed for nine from 21 balls, third out with 52 on the board.

But Mount Lawley were able to pose a challenging target of 207-5 from 50 overs after they had been put into bat.

An unbeaten 86 from 100 balls by J. Goodall was the bedrock of Mount Lawley's innings.

Perth seemed on target for victory after recovering from 76-4 thanks to a stand of 103 between L. Jury and J Lewis who both made 56.

But the last six wickets fell for 25 runs and Mount Lawley secured victory off the final ball of the 50 overs as Perth were bowled out for 204.

Fell held onto one catch as his side squeezed over the finishing line.
