FINCH ADDED TO RAPIDS SQUAD FOR DURHAM CUP CLASH

paceman adam finch has been added to the worcestershire rapids squad for today’s royal london one-day cup clash with durham at New Road.

finch is part of a 13 man squad which includes the 11 players in action against leicestershire foxes on sunday plus george rhodes.

the 18-year-old was part of the england under-19 squad during the winter tour of bangladesh and last week returned 3-38 for the county’s seconds in the trophy clash with warwickshire.

the rapids are looking to bounce back from a 38 run defeat at the fischer county ground when ross whiteley scored his maiden list a century and ed barnard hit his highest score in white ball cricket.

first team coach alex gidman said: “things didn’t quite go to plan and it proved to ourselves that there are some really good teams and players out there and we weren’t quite on the money.

“we made a few mistakes at leicester and it’s important to learn from it and move on.

“the games are coming thick and fast and there has not been much time to do anything physically, more mentally than anything.”
