Nathan Lyon achieved his maiden Specsavers County Championship wicket for Worcestershire – in conditions vastly different to his previous success at first class level.
The Australian off spinner struck on day two of the match with Derbyshire at the 3aaa County Ground when he trapped Alex Hughes lbw for 53.
He was warmly congratulated by his County team-mates after securing a second bowling bonus point with Derbyshire then 200-6.
Lyon's previous first class victim had been secured in the Himalayan city of Dharamsala – now the home of the Dalai Lama – when playing for his country in the fourth Test against India in late March.
But hopes of building on that initial breakthrough for Worcestershire were foiled by the elements on another truncated day as play was called off at 5pm.
Derbyshire resumed on 111-3 from 40 overs with Luis Reece on 53 and Billy Godleman 13.
But the two not out batsmen overnight were quickly dismissed in an encouraging start to proceedings by skipper Joe Leach's side.
Jack Shantry accounted for Reece after he had added only a single as he fended a rising delivery to Tom Kohler-Cadmore at first slip.
Then in the next over it became 122-5 as Godleman (19) nicked Leach through to keeper Ben Cox.
The players initially came off for rain at 11.55am and did not return until 2.05pm after the loss of 24 overs.
Leach and Shantry again bowled without a great deal of luck and troubled new batsman Darren Smit.
Hughes and Smit set about rebuilding the Derbyshire innings with a partnership of 78 in 21 overs.
The latter cut Ed Barnard for four before Smit survived a confident lbw shout from the same bowler on 27.
But in the next over Lyon accounted for Hughes after he had tried to work the ball on the leg-side – and then the heavens opened.
