Worcestershire paceman Charlie Morris was keen to praise the efforts of Joe Leach after the pair were largely responsible for bowling out Somerset for 250 on the opening day of the LV= County Championship match at New Road.
Morris returned the second five wicket haul of his Worcestershire career and finished with 5-71 from 24 overs.
But Leach, who replaced the injured Gareth Andrew, was also effective and returned 3-76 in 22 overs.
Worcestershire then reached 35-2 by the close with skipper Daryl Mitchell (20*) and Alex Gidman (7*) at the crease.
Morris said: "It was a great day and a really good day for us as a squad. It was fantastic to bowl Somerset out and a good start from Daryl Mitchell and Alex Gidman who batted really well there.
"First thing this morning it was doing a bit. It is a good cricket wicket. There is enough there if you put the ball in the right place, certainly enough bounce and movement.
"But, having said that if you miss your line and length, it is a true track and you can play your shots. There was certainly enough there for us and we made the most of that this morning."
Morris was devastating in a first spell of 4-34 from 11 overs.
He said: "I've been working on a few things this week with Matt Mason.
"It's great that I've managed to take that from training into the game and I also thought Joe Leach bowled really well.
"That second spell in particular was top drawer, fantastic. It was just my luck to get five wickets today.
"I thought Joe could easily have picked up five with the way he bowled. All-round, a really good effort.
"You are always going to get partnerships, especially in Division One cricket, and I guess it's just how you come back at them and you just stick in the game and keep smashing away, hitting your areas, and hopefully that is enough to break those partnerships.
"They batted well at times but to get them out for 250, hopefully we can get somewhere near that tomorrow and push on.
"It definitely dried out a bit and when the ball gets older and softer it didn't quite do as much.
"But this evening when they bowled, it was still doing something with the new ball and it will be a really important hour for us tomorrow morning."
