Worcestershire Cricket Society will launch their series of winter cricket evenings on Tuesday (October 9) with Geoff Miller the opening speaker of the 2018-2019 programme in the Hick Pavilion (7.30pm start).
Miller, the former England all-rounder and ex National Selector, is widely regarded as one of the most entertaining speakers on the after dinner circuit.
He had been originally been earmarked to attend one of the 2017-2018 cricket evenings but was forced to cancel the engagement due to other commitments.
Miller featured in 31 Tests and 25 ODIs for England between 1976 and 1984.
He played for Derbyshire for 13 seasons between 1973 and 1986 and, after a three year spell with Essex, returned to his original county for the final season of his distinguished career in 1990.
Geoff amassed 888 first class and 278 List A wickets and also scored 12,027 first class and 4,234 List A runs.
He became National Selector in 2008 before retiring from the selection panel in 2013.
This is expected to be one of the Society’s most popular cricket evenings of the winter and admission for non Society members will be £5.
