It's a happy New Year to all members and supporters – and what a year it is to look forward to.

There would be anticipation enough at the prospect of a return to playing First Division cricket in the LV = County Championship.

Director of Cricket Steve Rhodes' squad will again be pitting their skills against the elite after last season's memorable promotion campaign.

It is an exciting challenge for the crop of young players who defied the bookmakers pre-season odds to seal a place in the top flight.

But on top of that Worcestershire can look forward with relish to celebrating their 150th Anniversary Year.

It was a meeting at the Star Hotel in Foregate Street on March 3 1865 which led to this great club being established.

Now five County Championship titles, numerous one-day triumphs and many legendary players later, the county will be marking this landmark year with many special events.

Everyone at Worcestershire County Cricket Club hope you saviour and enjoy the next 12 months – and here's to the next 150 years!
