Hepburn Hits Unbeaten 80 As Seconds Suffer Trophy Reversal

Alex Hepburn hit an unbeaten 80 as Worcestershire Seconds went down by 115 runs to a strong Lancashire Seconds line-up in a Second Eleven Trophy clash at Emirates Old Trafford today.

Hepburn hit one six and eight fours in his 77 ball knock as Worcestershire were bowled out for 248 in 44.2 overs.

He had also been his side's most economical bowler and returned figures of 2-52 from his 10 overs in Lancashire's total of 363 all out after the home side had chosen to bat.

Opener Liam Livingstone scored 162 off 11 balls with nine sixes and 14 fours and shared in an opening stand of 102 with Luis Reece.

There were contributions all down the order in support of Livingstone who was third out at 250 in the 35th over.

But the last six wickets fell for 18 runs, three of them clean bowled by Chris Russell who finished with 4-61 from nine overs.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore travelled up from New Road to play and replaced Alex Gidman who was called into the senior squad for tomorrow's home LV = County Championship clash with Nottinghamshire.

He opened the innings and scored 46 off 49 balls before becoming one of four wickets to fall to one time England spinner Simon Kerrigan (4-28).

Hepburn came to the wicket at 116-3 and shared in an eighth wicket stand of 58 with Ben Twohig before the Seconds were bowled out with still 5.4 overs remaining.
