Hepburn Leading Run-Scorer In Native Australia For Willetton

Worcestershire all-rounder Alex Hepburn will go into 2017 as Willetton Dragons leading run-scorer in all one-day and two-day cricket during the first half of the campaign.

The Western Australian born player has scored one century and three half centuries in contributing 409 runs at an average of 40.90.

Hepburn, who celebrated his 21st birthday on December 21, reached three figures when he scored 127 against University.

His efforts have helped Willetton into fifth sport in the 16-team Western Australian Cricket Association two-day competition and eighth place in the WACA one-day tournament at the half-way stage.

It followed on from Hepburn's successful season with the bat for Worcestershire Seconds in the three and four day format of the game.

Hepburn, who hit four Second X1 centuries in 2015, amassed 709 runs – a figure only surpassed by Ollie Westbury (732).

In addition, he picked up 17 wickets at a cost of 46.47 runs apiece.

Hepburn was rewarded in September with a new one-year contract at New Road for the 2018 campaign.

He made his first team debut in 2015 with two appearances in the Royal London One-Day Cup but did not taste senior action last summer.
