Worcestershire batting legend Graeme Hick could return to New Road next summer – but as the leader of the opposition.
Hick is now high performance coach at Cricket Australia's centre of excellence and part of his role is taking charge of the Under-19 side who will be touring England in 2015.
England Under-19s manager John Abrahams revealed efforts will be made to play a game at New Road as part of the schedule to enable Hick to return to the ground he performed with distinction for 25 years before retiring in 2008.
Abrahams said: "We've just agreed with Cricket Australia for reciprocal tours for our Under-19 sides so we will visit Australia in March-April 205 and Australia Under-19s will come to England in July-August of that year.
"Even though the fixtures haven't been decided yet, we will try to see if we can get one at New Road for Graeme to come back and visit his old stomping ground.
"It will be brilliant if we can do that after what Graeme did for Worcestershire over 25 years.
"We will try but there are no guarantees because the Under-19s have to fit in with first class fixtures but if we can do it, it will be really good."
Hick registered his 100th first class century for Worcestershire in 2006 and played in 65 Tests and 120 one-day internationals for England. He was awarded the MBE in 2009.
He was at the helm for Australia during the recent ICC Under-19 World Cup in which they were beaten by England in the third-fourth place play-off.
