Graeme Hick returns to New Road with his Australian Under-19 side already guaranteed at least a share of the spoils in the five match ODI Series with England Under-19s.
The two teams will contest the final game of the series tomorrow at Worcestershire legend Hick's old stomping ground with Australia 2-1 up and one game washed out.
Australia moved ahead by gaining a crushing seven wicket win at Grace Road, Leicester yesterday inside 50 overs.
They put England into bat after winning the toss and bowled them out for 99 in 29.2 overs and then reached 101-3 off 20.2 overs.
Jhye Richardson (3-33) removed the England openers but most of the damage was caused by fellow new ball bowler Liam Hatcher.
He finished with the superb figures of 6-27 from his full allocation of 10 overs.
Australia lost two early wickets in reply at 9-2 but an unbeaten 39 from Matt Renshaw saw them through to victory.
Hick and his players will practice at New Road today before the player who played for the County for 25 years is interviewed by current club president, Lord King of Lothbury, in a function at the ground this evening.
The 49-year-old said:“It’s good the way things have worked out with the tour ending in Worcester, because obviously it’s a place that will always be special to me.
“It’s been an enjoyable and valuable tour for all the boys, and hopefully we can finish things off with a win in the one-day series.”
England will have to make at least one change as Haseeb Hameed has been called up to make his LV= County Championship debut for Lancashire against Glamorgan at Emirates Old Trafford.
Joe Weatherley, who was England’s captain in Australia, has been called into the squad to join his Hampshire team-mates Brad Taylor and Mason Crane.
