HIGHEST SCORE OF WINTER FOR RHODES IN 50 OVER TRIUMPH

George Rhodes hit his highest score to date of the winter as Onslow CC overcame North City by six wickets in their final Ewen Chatfield Trophy 50 over encounter before the festive season.

The Worcestershire all-rounder, batting at number three, struck 68 off 105 balls with six fours as Onslow chased down a 185 target.

Rhodes went to the wicket in the first over and figured in the decisive stand of 146 in 32 overs with Nicholas Pile (77).

He was third out at 154 as Onslow went onto triumph with 13.3 overs to spare.

Rhodes had earlier returned 1-29 from six overs as North City were dismissed for 184 in 38.4 overs.

He had impressed with the ball in the previous low scoring clash against Karori which Onslow won by three wickets.

Rhodes finished with the frugal figures of 1-14 from nine overs as Karori were bowled out for 123.

When Onslow batted, Rhodes made 12 off 40 balls as his side got over the finishing line in 35.4 overs.
