Dan Holland and skipper Callum Lea hit half centuries for Worcestershire Under-17s on day one of their Inter-County clash with Warwckshire Under-17s at Rugby School.
Opener Lea held the first half of the innings together after he had opted to bat in the two day fixture.
He was fourth out for 68 at 123 after hitting five fours in his 119 ball knock.
Xavier Clarke – the younger brother of Joe – also contributed 42 off 60 deliveries with three boundaries.
Holland came to the wicket on Lea's dismissal and made 81 off 137 balls with seven fours before he was eighth out at 272.
Worcestershire were dismissed for 277 in 84.4 overs.
But they then struck back with the ball, Charlie Cross and Alex Coates picking up one wicket apiece as Warwickshire Under-17s closed on 45-2 from 17 overs.
