Keast And Wightman Given Opportunity By Seconds At Rgs Worcester

Worcestershire Seconds will hand debuts to Nottinghamshire keeper Tom Keast and Cheshire paceman Bailey Wightman in the three-day match with Glamorgan Seconds at RGS Worcester starting tomorrow (Tuesday).

Keast, a Notts Academy product, has been playing regularly for their Second Eleven this season but has still to make his senior debut.

The 20-year-old also turns out for Cuckney CC in the Nottinghamshire Premier League, having previously played for Cleethorpes in the Yorkshire League.

He is an admirer of Notts legend and former keeper Chris Read who is now part of the Trent Bridge coaching set-up.

Wightman, aged 19, has been playing Minor Counties Cricket for Cheshire this season.

Jack Haynes returns to Seconds action after skippering the Midlands to the 50 overs title in the Super Fours at Loughborough.

Xavie Clarke, who was also part of the Midlands side along with Zain Ul-Hassan, is named in the 12 man squad by coach Alex Gidman.

There is an experienced look to the attack which includes Charlie Morris, Andy Carter and Steve Magoffin.
