Leach And Shantry In Top Ten Of Most Valuable Player Ratings In Lv = Cc

The impact made by Joe Leach and Jack Shantry in the LV = County Championship this summer is reflected in the latest Professional Cricketers' Association Most Valuable Player rankings for the four-day game.

All-rounder Leach is currently occupying joint second spot while left armer Shantry is holding down sixth position.

Players score points via the MVP formula of BATTING + BOWLING + FIELDING + CAPTAINCY + WINNING = TOTAL MVP.

Leach has a total of 269 points at an average of 29.92 per game and Shantry 238 points at an average of 21.65 per match.

Leach has scored 424 Championship runs at an average of 38.55 and is lying 31st in the Division One batting averages while Shantry has totalled 180 runs at 12.86 and is placed 128th.

On the bowling front Leach has taken 48 Championship wickets in nine games at an average of 25.46 and is again in 31st position in the Division One averages.

Shantry is just ahead of him in 22nd spot with 45 wickets from 11 matches at an average of 22.24.

Durham's Chris Rushworth's leads the way with 349 points at an average of 31.69 each match.

Other Worcestershire players currently in the top 100 are paceman Charlie Morris (37th) skipper Daryl Mitchell (55th), batsman Tom Fell (58th) and keeper Ben Cox (64th).
