Joe Leach is making a sizeable contribution with bat and ball for North Canberra Gungahlin in the Australian Capital Territory first grade competition.

The Worcestershire all-rounder is third in the batting averages and second in the bowling lists for the 50 over competition.

Leach's six innings to date have produced 202 runs at an average of 33.80 with a top score of 64 against Eastlake.

He has also made useful scores in four of his five other knocks which have yielded returns of 30, 5, 41, 40 and 21 – plus 42 in the Konica T20 Cup.

On the bowling front Leach has picked up 10 wickets for 208 runs at an average of 20.80 with an economy rate of 4.52.

His best performance to date was 3-51 from 10 overs against Eastlake but, as with the bat, he has contributed consistently.

NCG are currently occupying joint third spot in the table after their match with current leaders Weston Creek Molonglo was abandoned this weekend.

Molonglo have 25 points from their six games with second placed Western District UDC on 19 points and NCG level with Queanbeyan District – Leach's county colleague Ed Barnard's current club – on 16 points.
