Joe Leach's stunning record-equalling hat-trick for Worcestershire Rapids yesterday has attracted worldwide coverage in the media.
Leach completed the treble with the first three balls of the Royal London One-Day Cup match with Northants Steelbacks at New Road.
The 24-year-old became only the second player in history to achieve the feat and the first in this country.
It has led to reports appearing in dozens of media outlets including Times Of India, the USA Post, the Gulf Times, New Zealand Herald, Canada Sports, Fox Sports as well as many papers and websites in this country.
Many of the reports were based on the one filed by highly respected journalist Mike Beddow for the ECB which is then circulated via the wires of the Press Association all around the world.
Sky Sports also sent down a camera crew to interview Leach after the 50 over clash although Leach had mixed emotions after the Rapids went down by 21 runs.
The only other player to equal that performance was former Worcestershire paceman Chaminda Vaas when playing for Sri Lanka against Bangladesh in a World Cup match in South Africa in 2003.
Leach accounted for Richard Levi and Rob Keogh – both caught behind by Ben Cox – and then Ben Duckett gloved the next delivery to Jack Shantry in the gulley.
