Leach In Top Ten Of Capital Territory Averages With Bat And Ball

Joe Leach is certainly living up to his "all-rounder" tag as reflected in the latest averages for the Australian Capital Territory first grade competition.

The Worcestershire player, who is playing for North Canberra Gungahlin this winter, is the second highest wicket-taker and sixth highest run-scorer in the ACT for the 2014-2015 campaign.

It may be a different standard of competition but is a continuation of the fine form Leach showed with bat and ball in helping Worcestershire gain promotion to Division One of the LV = County Championship.

Leach has so far taken 18 first grade wickets for the Northies including a best haul of 5-31against Ginninderrra.

His tally is only bettered by Queanbeyan all-rounder Michael Spaseki with 20 victims.

Leach, who on Sunday helped the Northies win the Konica T20 Cup, is also the sixth highest run-scorer in the ACT with 292 runs from eight innings at an average of 36.50.

His two half centuries both came in the two matches against Eastlake when he notched up scores of 64 and 72 respectively.

Spaseki is again the leading the way in the batting charts with 471 runs.
