Leach Moves Into Pca Mvp Top 10

Worcestershire seamer Joe Leach has moved into the Professional Cricketers’ Association Most Valuable Player Rankings top 10 after a productive week with the ball.

Leach began by taking five for 33 in the NatWest T20 Blast win over Durham at New Road, the second-best figures for Worcestershire in T20 cricket.

He then took career-best match figures of nine for 109 to set up victory over Leicestershire in the Specsavers County Championship at Grace Road.

Leach took five for 99 in the first innings and four for 10 – including two top four batsmen – in the second as Leicestershire were shot out for just 43.

Leach took 34 PCA MVP points from the Leicestershire match and moved into seventh place in the rankings table on 126 points, 44 behind leader Keith Barker, the Warwickshire all-rounder.

The PCA MVP was introduced in 2007 and is designed by the players to find the cricketers who really win matches by combining all aspects of a player’s performance to give a ranking in relation to his peers.
