Skipper Joe Leach will make his first appearance of Worcestershire’s pre-season tour of Abu Dhabi in tomorrow’s 50 over clash with Essex in Abu Dhabi.

The all-rounder is back in the County’s colours for the first time since suffering a stress fracture of the back last summer.

Leach will play purely as a batsman and five other players will taste their first action of the two-week camp which combines warm weather training and five days of cricket.

Riki Wessels will make his first appearance in Worcestershire’s colours after returning from a two-game stint with Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League.

Batsmen Ollie Westbury and Daryl Mitchell plus pace duo Josh Tongue and Adam Finch come into the starting eleven.

Westbury has enjoyed a successful winter of grade cricket in New Zealand.

Finch was part of the England Young Lions team which has been in Test, ODI and T20 action against Bangladesh Under-19s.
