Joe Leach has revised his targets for the season with Worcestershire after reaching the 30 wicket mark in LV = County Championship cricket with three matches remaining.
All-rounder Leach came into the side after Gareth Andrew's back injury ruled him out after the opening four games of the campaign.
He has responded by forming part of the effective seam attack alongside Charlie Morris (42 wickets) and Jack Shantry (41 wickets) which backed up spinner Saeed Ajmal (63 wickets).
Leach has also scored useful late order runs after achieving his maiden Championship century against Gloucestershire at Cheltenham last season.
His reward was to be handed a new two year contract until the end of the 2016 campaign.
He said: "If you had offered me 30 wickets at the start of the year, I would have snapped your hand off.
"But now I've got to raise my ambition and expectation until the end of the season and I'll certainly be doing that.
"Thirty is brilliant but I'm not resting on my laurels.
"As regards the new contract, I'm over the moon. I've been in talks for a little while now so I'm pleased to get it out of the way and now I can go back to just concentrating on cricket.
"I'm looking forward to the next two years and hopefully we can push on."
Leach is determined that Worcestershire will not throw away the good work of the season so far as they approach the final month.
He said: "I suppose not losing until August (against Gloucestershire) shows what a good year we've had.
"But it is still only the end of August and nothing has been decided yet.
"We need to make sure we are playing until the end of September otherwise we will have nothing to show for it."
