Worcestershire were dismissed for 141 in the Royal London One-Day Cup clash with Yorkshire Vikings at Headingley today.
Joe Leach, with an unbeaten 43, and skipper Daryl Mitchell (33) were the main contributors for Worcestershire who were bowled out with 6.4 of their 50 overs remaining.
Worcestershire paceman Mitchell McClenaghan dismissed Alex Lees for three in the pre-lunch spell of the Yorkshire innings who reached 38-1 off 10 overs.
Leach and McClenaghan had featured in the highest stand of the Worcestershire innings – 39 in 6.4 overs – for the 10th wicket.
England paceman Tim Bresnan (4-28) and leg spinner Adil Rashid (3-21) did most of the damage.
Mitchell opted to bat after winning the toss and collected the first boundary through the covers off Bresnan.
Richard Oliver then turned Jack Brooks past deep square leg for four but then was adjudged lbw by his next delivery for five.
Mitchell looked in good form and straight drove Bresnan for four as Worcestershire reached 42-1 at the end of the first powerplay.
The visitors immediately took their second powerplay and were on the receiving end of a spell of 3-0 in six overs from Bresnan.
Tom Fell survived an appeal for caught behind off Bresnan but in the same over he was bowled by a ball which came back in and hit the top of off stump for 10.
Bresnan's next delivery accounted for Alexei Kervezee (0) with Lees taking a juggling catch at first slip.
Tom Kohler-Cadmore survived the hat-trick ball in Bresnan's next over but after making a single a delivery clipped the toe end of his bat and Adam Lyth held onto a excellent catch at second slip with the total on 48-4.
Mitchell made an accomplished 33 off 48 balls with four boundaries before he was adjudged lbw to Matthew Fisher.
Rashid bowled keeper Ben Cox (10) around his legs to make it 67-6.
Ross Whiteley, who had made two half centuries in the opening three One-Day Cup games, hit a couple of boundaries but he fell lbw to Rashid for 13.
Brooks returned to the attack and Shaaiq Choudhry (0) was caught behind off the sixth ball of his first over back in the action.
Rashid collected his third wicket when Jack Shantry (7) was stumped after coming down the wicket.
There was last wicket defiance from Leach, who hit Richard Pyrah for successive boundaries, and McClenaghan who returned to the One-Day Cup side in place of Charlie Morris.
McClenaghan played the scoop shot and reverse sweep to good effect in supporting Leach.
He was finally bowled by Bresnan for 16 to leave Leach unbeaten with five fours in his 63 ball knock.
McClenaghan shared the new ball with Shantry and broke through in his first over when Lees (3) was caught at long on by Fell after trying to hit over the top.
Kohler-Cadmore left the field for treatment after an edge from Kane Williamson struck his finger when fielding in the slips off McClenaghan.
Williamson collected three boundaries in an over from New Zealand team-mate McClenaghan before the interval.
