A quartet of Worcestershire players could have key roles to play on the final day of two-day fixtures which reach their conclusion in Australia this weekend.
Joe Leach will be looking for a sizeable contribution with the bat for North Canberra Gungahlin who were outplayed on the opening day of their Australian Capital Territory first grade clash against visiting Western District.
The Northies will resume in their second innings on 11-1 after being bowled out in their first innings for 89 and then seeing Western District reply with 250-5 declared.
Fellow New Road all-rounder Ross Whiteley will go to the crease on 11 not out for Prospect CC who will start on 29-1 in pursuit of home side Tea Tree Gully's 267 all out.
Whiteley picked up two wickets for 49 runs off 13 overs.
Opener Richard Oliver will continue on six not out as Geelong City set off on 22-2 in pursuit of St. Jospeh's 105 all out in the Geelong Cricket Association First Division.
Oliver said: "It looks like summer has officially arrived in Geelong and the Sharks were certainly circling around the reigning Premiers St Joseph's on Saturday.
"t was our first outing since the Christmas break owing to last week's washout and we lost the toss (again!) on a good looking batting track.
"But it did feel like a potentially good bowling day, it was quite humid and partly cloudy with a strong gusty wind.
"Unusually, Kent Agg was slow to get into his stride, but between him and Mark Worthington, they managed to keep it tight with the new ball and the breakthrough came with the score on 23 courtesy of the 'Aggot'.
"This sparked a remarkable top order collapse, with five wickets falling without a run being scored.
"Young 'Snake' Nolan came on first change and in tandem with the consistent Agg (19-5-31-4)and bowled with good pace and control, in what was his debut red ball game in the top grade this season.
"A couple of partnerships followed which threatened to undo our hard work with the newer ball. But at 5-80 step forward 'Big Red' Adam Marsland who, over two spells, dismantled the lower order to finish with figures 14-7-22-3.
"We also put two fantastic run outs on the board courtesy of one to the big fielding skip Jack Driver and also a back hander from Nolan off his own bowling.
"So we were left 17 overs to make a dent in the 105 runs required. We finished the day handily placed after seeing the shine off the new ball during a dangerous opening spell.
"The Joeys were certainly not going down without a fight, as Walerys and Kentish continued the quality standard of bowling shown throughout the day.
"But myself, six not out, and Tommy Elliot, seven not out, are hungry for runs following the break, along with the rest of our batting unit.
"So hopefully we can knock over the remaining 83 runs without too much trouble and make a real statement to the GCA with finals cricket fast approaching."
All-rounder Ed Barnard will be looking to follow up his 52 on day one for Queanbeyan District with success with the ball against Weston Creek Molonglo in the ACT first grade.
Barnard, Leach, Jack Shantry and Ben Cox were all reunited this week in Melbourne with the quartet pictured witnessing the Australian Open tennis.
Paceman Shantry and keeper Cox will return to action for the Greenvale Kangaroos tomorrow on the opening day of a two-day Victorian Premier Cricket Bartercard Men's Premier Firsts match with Frankston Peninsula.
Keeper Joe Clarke's side South Perth also begin a two day game at home to University in the Western Australian Cricket Association first grade.
