Chief executive David Leatherdale is hoping Moeen Ali's elevation into the England set-up will help Worcestershire in their quest to attract "'A' grade cricketers that can make a difference" this winter.
The county have already secured the services of vastly experienced batsman Alex Gidman on a two year contract from Gloucestershire as they start to contemplate life in Division One of the LV = County Championship.
They would like to further strengthen and Leatherdale is hoping potential targets will not view New Road as an "outpost" after seeing how Moeen has forced his way into the international set-up through his level of performances.
When asked about possible further signings, Leatherdale said: "We'd like to. Alex was a key signing as a senior batsman to help dovetail with some of the younger guys.
"We will potentially certainly look at bowlers. There are not a great deal around at the moment.
"It's trying to find those 'A' grade cricketers that can really make a difference.
"They are not easy to find but hopefully, with Moeen making his way into the England scene, players will think Worcester is not an outpost.
"It's a place where you can have an opportunity, perform to the top of your game and then you are going to push yourself forward.
"Hopefully Moeen has proved that and other players will do the same, ones we've got and others that might want to join us."
